Environmental education for sustainable conservation

For the children around the town of Maun, there is a new refuge. It is situated between the magnificent Okavango Delta and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR). The lives of many families in this region are characterized by extreme poverty, unemployment and poor education. They live on the outskirts of the cities where alcoholism, drugs, violence, disease and HIV dictate everyday’s life. Many children are half or full orphans and have virtually no chance of a good future. More

Honey badger, zebra, giraffe, wild dog and lion

The environmental education program is currently being planned. The focus is always to fill the children with enthusiasm for the animal and plant life that they encounter every day. On trips to the parks they learn to track the animals and experience the differences between the various ecosystems such as deserts, grasslands, bush and river. Affectionately, the children are shown the beauty of nature and explained what they can do for their protection. More

Training and team

Trough the projects and child protection centers, local jobs are created for trained childcare workers, cooks and volunteers. Being from the same region, they form a team that is specifically trained for its tasks, sharing our philosophy and working towards the same goal. To offer the children a better future than the presence, SAVE wants to help people to help themselves by social support and environmental education programs.
