Code of Conduct

SAVE is a foundation of public utility whose aim is global and long-term nature protection as well as social justice support. SAVE cooperates with volunteers and project staff who feel obliged to achieve those aims. They are crucial for the eventual success of SAVE.
SAVE relies on donors who desire to support its aims.

On the grounds of the specific aims and the trust of the donors in regards to the use of donations are concerned, high expectations arise both in  the way SAVE works and of the staff’s credibility. That is why the staff of SAVE abide by the rules put forward in this “SAVE Code of Conduct” guidelines.

These rules are observed when SAVE employees:

  • Are working on SAVE-financed projects,
  • campaigns initiated by SAVE or assisted by SAVE in order to support the specific aims or obtain donors/offerings,
  • notices, correspondence, e-mails, published texts, public speeches connected with SAVE,
  • individual actions which must be in accordance with SAVE’s aims.

The employees are obliged to abide by the following rules in their work for SAVE as well as in their personal lives:

  • The work is predominantly unpaid for, but it can also be paid for during the support of the project. The salary cannot be unproportionally high and should be covered by the decision of the board. Volunteers are refunded only for those expenses which were approved of prior to spending.
  • SAVE cooperates with other organizations of nature, environment, or animal protection and development as well as establishes relations with companies, political parties and governmental organizations in the countries of donors and beneficiaries. However, their influence over SAVE’s own projects and actions will not be accepted.

SAVE employees and those workers/people involved in different projects have equal rights, regardless of their background, religion, sex and race.  The employees respect each other as well as all those involved in the projects. They are open for every person independent of their culture.

  • SAVE employees pay special attention to work having the environment in mind and protecting its resources.
  • SAVE employees abide by statutory and executive provisions and rights but they also respect the culture and customs in the countries of SAVE’s activity. Under no circumstances will the employees of SAVE use violence when a conflict arises. They will dismiss every action which would be possible to harm another worker.
  • Racial, national, religion and sex discrimination will not be accepted.
  • No political, party or religious aims will be undertaken.
  • The employees of SAVE will on no account accept gifts or gratifications from people or organizations from the outside which are not meant to support or fund the projects. In case someone wants to thank an employee for his or her involvement or results, they can do it by supporting SAVE’s projects.

SAVE and its employees can assure that the financed projects are in accordance with the aims of SAVE and controlled carefully in the respects of:

  • The support of specified aims,
  • No personal interest in the assessment,
  • Assessing the financed projects on the whole and no clash with any aims,
  • SAVE’s independence not limited by project-related offerings.

The logo of SAVE represents the aims of the public utility foundation and can be used only in SAVE’s own publications. Exceptions require clear consent from the foundation board and are valid only for specific aims. SAVE makes information on projects available on the website regularly. SAVE’s intention is to ensure public clarity and give its donors the certainty that their donations are used according to the organizations aims.

The task of all individuals responsible for any project is to make necessary information available in order to prepare reports connected with each project. In the countries where projects are being worked on SAVE will offer information on the positive influences of the projects for public knowledge. In case there are any conflicts connected to the Code of Conduct, the Foundation Board of Trustees will investigate the facts and undertake appropriate actions.
